Maneuvering

We conduct free-running small-size model ship tests to examine hydrodynamic force and interference coefficients affecting a Hull and a rudder.

Maneuvering

Stern Flow Measurement in Oblique Sailing

We carry out CFD analysis which emulates stern flow when different sizes of model ships are oblique sailing, and examine the effects of sizes.

Simulations of Ship Maneuvering

Using Maneuvering Simulation Program (MSP), which Akiken developed, enables us to reproduce ship maneuvering for self-propulsion model ship tests, etc., and calculate the performance of actual ships.

Performance Evaluation by Model Ship Tests

Using a self-propulsion model ship, we examine maneuvering movement for direct steering. Based on the wake records obtained by the automatic wake tracking and measuring system, we measure precision circling diameter by direct steering and overshooting angles in Zigzag tests.

Performance Evaluation by Actual Shipboard Testing

Maneuvering performance evaluation by integrating CFD & EFD
